Event Details

OSSE is conducting a series of Instructional Strategies 2 day trainings.  The Strategic Adult Educator will take place on March 7 and 8, 9:30am-4:30pm.  

 

Workshop Objectives:

·        Increase your understanding of the role adult educators/teachers play in helping the OSSE Adult and Family Education achieve performance outcomes

·        Identify  and apply  promising practices to develop lessons plans that integrate CASAS competencies, basic skill content standards, student goals, technology and a variety of instructional models and methods  to teach adult learners

·        Conduct observations of peer instructors using the OSSE Adult and Family Education classroom observation tool and provide feedback on the tool

·        Review your CASAS student and class profiles by competency, class profile by competency, student goals and lesson plan, assess your skills using the classroom observation form as a self-assessment and develop a continuous improvement plan

·        Develop a draft lesson plan to be implemented in your program and be observed by the state staff and/or its designees and/mentors.

·        Establish a network of adult educators
